Alan’s career in hospitality spans almost 40 years gaining experience in not only finance-based roles but also operational positions making him well versed within the industry.
His roles were with corporate-based properties such as Lansbury Hotels (a Division of Whitbread), Paramount Hotels and Hotel Du Vin as well as with independent operators.
Immediately prior to joining Coombe Abbey, Alan was Financial Controller at Heythrop Park Resort until its sale in December 2018. Whilst there Alan successfully studied the HOSPA finance exams and gained their Financial Management student of the year award for 2015. Within this role extensive refurbishments to the hotel were carried out which were under his control. He spent the previous three years as Financial Controller with Hotel Du Vin.
This background of operational and financial experience allows Alan to understand the balance required for hospitality businesses to be successful.
